End of Year - Review, Reflection, Resilience

The holidays are here and we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support throughout the year. Your generosity has enabled us to create a special Community Volunteer Program, where volunteers join us in spreading love and joy by delivering stuffed animals, treats, and companionship to sheltered pets throughout the holidays. This program has expanded to multiple cities across the US, with plans for further growth in 2024. 

We've also been active in lending support to those in immediate need. Regarding the deadliest wildfire in America in over a century, Maui wildfires this past summer burned through the community of Lahaina, resulting in over 17,000 acres of destruction and the loss of over 2,200 buildings including historic landmarks.  96% of burned structures were residential buildings, with much of the town being reduced to ashes and ruins.  The damage caused by the fire has been estimated at nearly $6 billion! Many families and their pets who survived are still living in temporary housing and on the beach.

The Maui Humane Society estimates that 3,000 animals have been displaced by the wildfires. As of Aug. 22, the organization reported that over 1,300 lost pet reports were being processed through its platform and hotline. 

Thanks to your support, we donated, provided, and transported much-needed supplies along across the island to help those in need.

Furthermore, we have actively engaged in community events to educate and raise awareness about the lives of pets during disasters, ensuring that families and their beloved animals are better prepared for unforeseen challenges.
