After historic flooding devastated towns across the region, leaving at least 25 dead, more than 300 people who were displaced were temporarily housed at state parks. Kentucky is still in an active search and rescue operation. With little to no warning, families just didn't have time to get themselves or their pets to safety. As you can imagine, the chaotic nature of this natural disaster, means that stories of pets, farm animals, and wildlife are still yet to come to light.
Here are some numbers as of this morning:
More storms expected to hit today and throughout the first week of August so unfortunately, flash flooding will remain a concern through the weekend and possibly longer. This is why we exist. Unfortunate events like these are why your love and support is crucial, so that we can give these helpless souls their survival story. When we can do that, we create a ripple effect that better prepares animals in the years to come. We cant prevent these sudden and extreme natural disasters, but we can learn and grow from them. Simply put, the success stories are opportunities to save lives today and tomorrow. If you'd like to support us and our mission, please donate and we will make sure your contribution goes directly to saving the lives of the voiceless. You are apart of not only giving a helpless animal in need a chance today, but many others tomorrow! It takes an army. Thank you, Kim.

Hello AFP friends, family, donors, partners, and Army of Volunteers!
Here is our summary of 2018 calendar year: Before getting into our volunteer work, I want to highlight two partnerships. PetSmart and Home Depot in the Bay Area, CA were welcomed as official partners. These were some of our biggest wins of 2018 and an unbelievable accomplishment for a company operating in its 1st year! They were paramount in our efforts throughout the year. Next is a summary of the four catastrophes around the US that Army for Pets was a part of: Kilauea Volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii
Lake Shasta and Mendocino Northern California Fires
North and South Carolina Floods/ hurricane
California Wildfires - Paradise (Campfire) and Southern California (Woosley)
Our objective still stands strong. Simply be of service and do not turn a blind eye. "One less animal suffering" should always be in the back of our minds. It starts with one helping hand and one animal receiving love. |
